Rex Herman was born in San Jose, California and raised in Woodstock, New York. He moved to Cary, North Carolina in 1976 where he attended Cary High School and North Carolina State University, majoring in Speech Communications.
After his education, Rex embarked upon an amazing career in Hotels and Hospitality managing several Five Star resorts including Duke’s Canoe Club in Waikiki, Hawaii, The Mural Room in Jackson Lake Lodge, Wyoming, and Dal Toro Lamborghini at the Palazzo Resort in Las Vegas.
He earned his North Carolina real estate license in 2001 and was living in Pinehurst, North Carolina when he met his wife Paula.
When Paula accepted a position as HR Director for Mecklenburg County, they moved to Uptown, Charlotte and Rex decided to join My Townhome Realty, recognizing it as the leader in full service property management offering both tenant and landlord representation, as well as boutique service for buyers and sellers of multi-family housing.
Rex strives to ensure the best possible outcome in every transaction for his clients. He knows the history of individual neighborhoods and is abreast of the restyling and renewal in the Queen City’s rapidly evolving market.
His knowledge of the Uptown Charlotte market and the surrounding areas include FreeMoreWest, Seversville, Smallwood, Wesley Heights, Dilworth and Westover Hills among several others.
Rex is an avid sports fan having been a member of the RSA Swim Team as well as playing Water Polo at NCSU. His past includes teaching swimming to Special Needs individuals and donating time to the Special Olympics. He is passionate for Fulham Football Club in West London, and extremely excited for the new MLS franchise arriving next year in Charlotte.
When relaxing Rex and Paula enjoy spending time with family, traveling to new places, playing golf, exploring antique malls and pampering their dog Rascal.
